Life Sounds Audiology
At Life Sounds Audiology, we provide patients with quality hearing and balance care. As a non-profit organization, our providers truly have their patients’ best interest in mind. Our audiologists hold doctoral-level degrees and are Board Certified by the American Academy of Audiology. As a practice dedicated to providing exceptional care, we use best practices in Audiology for all of our hearing services and fitting and programming of hearing aids.
WHY CHOOSE LIFE SOUNDS AUDIOLOGY FOR YOUR HEARING CARE?
We believe everyone deserves access to exceptional hearing care, however, for many individuals, cost is an obstacle. For that reason, we have modeled our practice around providing quality care that will allow our patients to stay within their financial means.
We offer a new approach to hearing healthcare by participating with many hearing aid discount programs and accept Medicaid and Fidelis insurance. Our expert insurance specialist will help you understand your hearing aid benefits and any discounts available to you. In addition, rather than pre-paying for services that you may not need, we offer an unbundled model, allowing individuals to only pay for what is appropriate for their care. We are also in-network for many third-party plans. These are a few of the ways we make hearing aids more affordable.
Life Sounds Audiology is a certified member of the Dr. Cliff Network. This means our audiologists are all verified to use best practices in Audiology.
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
When you come in for your first appointment, you will always be greeted by our friendly front office staff. We will have you fill out some light paperwork regarding your medical history and family history. This gives our audiologists a deeper understanding of your health.
1. The audiologist will work with you to create an individualized communication plan, which may include hearing aid technology. The audiologist will explain the different styles and levels of technology that would be appropriate for your hearing and communication profile.
2. The audiologist will spend time discussing your hearing history and goals, followed by an audiometric evaluation using all of the updated testing protocols and top of the line equipment. Your audiologist will review the results and will answer any questions you may have.
3. If you decide you want to proceed with hearing aid technology, our front office staff will schedule another appointment for your fitting.
WHY CHOOSE LIFE SOUNDS AUDIOLOGY FOR YOUR DIZZINESS AND BALANCE TESTING?
Dizziness and balance concerns are a common complaint among individuals in our community, which greatly affects one’s quality of life. Our audiologists have specialized training in performing diagnostic testing using our state-of-the-art videonystagmography (VNG) equipment. We will collaborate with your medical provider to help develop a treatment plan.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR DIZZINESS AND BALANCE APPOINTMENT
Prior to testing, you will be asked to follow some basic restrictions, which will be sent to you. When you come in for your appointment, you will be greeted by our friendly front office staff. We will have you fill out some light paperwork regarding your dizziness/balance and medical history.
The VNG test will last about one hour. It is a non-invasive test that is tolerated very well. You will be asked to follow a moving target with your eyes, lay in several different positions and finally, we will irrigate your ears with air to elicit a response from your balance system.
